Cambodia, Azerbaijan Commit to Deeper Bilateral Ties
(MENAFN) Cambodia and Azerbaijan have committed to deepening their bilateral relationship across multiple fronts, according to an official statement issued Monday by the office of the Cambodian prime minister's spokesperson.
The commitment emerged from a high-level meeting held at the Peace Palace in Phnom Penh, where Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet sat down with Elchin Amirbayov, a special assignments representative of the Azerbaijani president, to chart a course for expanded cooperation between the two nations.
Central to their discussions was the goal of strengthening ties across a broad spectrum of sectors — spanning politics, economics, trade, energy, tourism, culture, education, and agriculture, the press release confirmed.
"They further discussed promoting private-sector relations between the two countries through the organization of business-to-business meetings and business forums aimed at exploring investment opportunities and further increasing bilateral trade volume," the statement added.
Prime Minister Hun Manet underscored that both nations retain significant untapped potential to broaden their partnership, emphasizing that closer collaboration would yield tangible benefits for the citizens of both countries.
Amirbayov, speaking on behalf of Baku, affirmed that Azerbaijan is actively identifying new avenues for cooperation across promising sectors, with a particular focus on energizing private-sector engagement and accelerating economic and trade ties, the press release noted.
